From the moment we closed on our house, we started dreaming of ways to make this place our own. We came up with so many crazy ideas, but the one that always stuck with us was to build a bar.

We didn’t know if this would be a wet bar upstairs in the game room, or a built-in buffet style piece in the dining room- we just knew it made sense for us- I mean why not?!

There was a good amount of back and forth debate on where it should be built, and after the usual preparation and planning that goes into a project, the decision was made to build it into the living room. This made the space feel intentional and like an extension of the kitchen.

I actually found the inspiration for this while on our honeymoon. I brought a few magazines to read on the beach and came across an article in the Better Home and Gardens magazine. A couple built this in their game room, and it seemed like something we could do too.

I showed the article to Jourdan, and when we got back, he got to work. It didn’t happen instantly, but I cannot tell you what a good job he did. He bought the cabinet piece and built the rest by hand.

It has already been properly broken in and I know will be enjoyed for years to come! All we need now is for you to come have a drink with us!
